Piano MIDI Cleaner user guide

Installation

Close Logic Pro and download the macOS installer
Open the .pkg and follow the installer
Open Logic Pro and create or select a software instrument track
In the channel strip, open a MIDI FX slot, then choose Piano MIDI Cleaner

Choose Start Free 7-Day Trial inside the plug-in when you’re ready to begin. The trial includes every feature and can be started once per Mac

An internet connection is required to start the trial and activate a license

Open the license panel, enter the key from your purchase email and select Activate This Mac. You don’t need a separate installer

When the trial expires, purchase a license and activate the same installation to continue

Place the plug-in before your piano instrument in the MIDI FX chain
Capture the performance with Bounce in place in Logic, or drag a .mid file into the plug-in
Choose a velocity preset and adjust the balance while comparing Original MIDI and Cleaned Preview
Drag Drag Cleaned MIDI from the bottom of the plug-in to your Logic track

Velocity and pedal cleaning have separate on/off switches and presets

Melody / Middle / Bass: Adjust the velocity balance between the voices
Velocity Mix: Blend original and cleaned velocities from 0–100%. This does not change pedal processing
Timing: Set the time window used to group notes as a chord
Peak: Reduce isolated velocity spikes in the exported cleaned MIDI. Peak control is not applied in Live Preview

Range: Set the time window for identifying an early pedal release near the next chord
Move: Set how far an eligible release moves toward its corrected position
Release: Set the small delay after the next chord for the corrected pedal release

Cleaned Preview updates when you move the controls, even with Live Preview switched off

Turn Live Preview on to hear the processing during playback in Logic. Turn it off when you only want to compare and export captured MIDI

Drag Cleaned MIDI exports the processed notes and pedal events with your settings, including Peak control

Close Logic Pro. In Finder, choose Go, then Applications, then Piano MIDI Cleaner, then open Uninstall Piano MIDI Cleaner

The AU component is installed at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Piano MIDI Cleaner.component

Removing and reinstalling the plug-in does not reset your trial
